This large watercolor drawing on a 1.60-metre strip of paper is made on the North Sea Beach in October, 2026.
An inprovised, abstract record of the stormy wind and high waves. I pinned the paper down with sticks to keep it from blowing away and worked with a large brush and organic indigo watercolor. My hand followed the movement of the surf, until a wave washed away much of the drawing and almost took the paper with it. Then I started painting again. The interaction of paint, sand, water and salt resulted in an unique texture.
A video of the making of is shown on my instagram profile: https://www.instagram.com/p/Deha1qigjuE/
