This drawing is made on the North Sea Beach in September, 2026. Sheltered behind a clump of marram grass on the beach, I watched the quiet shoreline and made this drawing with watercolor washes and a few sharp pen lines in Indian ink. Loose brushstrokes gradually develop into an improvised abstraction of the experience.
